Our Story
My name is Bill Widmer, and I’m the founder of The Portal at Witch Well.
Two experiences shaped my life at a young age — psilocybin and sensory deprivation. After an intense and life-altering plant medicine experience, I decided I wanted to start a retreat space. Nearly 12 years later, The Portal was born.
After a happy accident, I found some raw off-grid land in the high desert in an area called Witch Well, Arizona. (It got it’s name from using witching rods to find water.)
I rolled up my sleeves and built a Geodesic Zome, and that’s what started my journey towards building this retreat space. It’s still a work-in-progress, and I’m so excited to share it with you!
